Spectral Decomposition of Midwest Power Grid Load:
Decoupling Thermal Dependence and Behavioral Rhythm
The thermal response of grid load is among the strongest and most predictable relationships in power systems. These relationships are strong enough that they mask the lower-amplitude behavioral structure beneath it. Here I use spectral decomposition of the post-fit residual to recover those hidden periodic behaviors.
